Medical Oversight & Advisory

Last updated: March 2, 2026

How we ensure clinical accuracy across every piece of content, every course, and every response from Dr. Wellls. Board-certified physicians. Specialty-matched review. No shortcuts.

94% of women never receive menopause education. 80% of OB/GYNs lack formal menopause training. Fewer than 5,000 physicians worldwide hold Lifestyle Medicine board certification. Our medical oversight process exists to bridge these gaps.

A lot of health platforms list medical advisors. Some actually review the content. Some signed a one-page agreement and never looked at a single article.

We built a medical review process that's real. Here's what that means in practice.

Content Review

Every content package is reviewed by an advisor with relevant specialty expertise. A sleep specialist reviews insomnia content. A psychiatrist reviews anxiety content. A gynecologist reviews hormonal content. We don't ask a cardiologist to sign off on a sleep article, because that's not how expertise works.

Knowledge Base Governance

Our knowledge base contains 15,715 peer-reviewed sources. Medical reviewers oversee how those sources are selected, how they're classified by evidence level, and which ones need updating or removal.

AI Health Guide Oversight

Dr. Wellls operates within boundaries defined by medical professionals. Which topics it can address. How it communicates uncertainty. When it tells you to see a physician. How it handles crisis situations. Those boundaries aren't set by engineers. They're set by clinicians.

Clinical Guideline Monitoring

When NAMS, ACOG, ACLM, or the Endocrine Society update their position statements, relevant clinical reviewers flag every piece of content that might be affected. This isn't annual. It's continuous.

Course Validation

Our structured courses contain 60 to 90 peer-reviewed citations each. Every citation is verified by a qualified reviewer with relevant expertise before the course goes live.

Conflict of Interest

All medical reviewers involved with Wellls disclose financial relationships with healthcare companies. If a reviewer has a relevant financial conflict, they don't review content on that topic. This is a hard rule.
